One of a Kind Custom Motorcycle ARLEN NESS in Tucson, Arizona For Sale

Price: $16,500
Type: Art & Antiques, For Sale - Private.

Up for consideration is a very unique bike. The motorcycle is a 100% Arlen Ness (he doesn't make many complete bikes anymore). The bike is a xxxx model-built as a prototype for the Y2K frame with rubber mounts for the engine. Google Arlen Ness to learn more about his history. What makes this ride so special is that Arlen actually painted this one himself (very rare indeed) for a bike show competition. After he finsished taking it on tour for the bike show competition he put it up for sale. I have pictures of Arlen handing the keys over during the original sale in their Daytona store. Of course, this bike is kept indoors and has always had a ''personal mechanic''. There is a digital speedometer which has no odometer which is why the miles are unknown. I assume because it was a show bike he found no reason to put an odometer. The engine is a Harley Davidson xxxxCC-80 CI EVO. With an Evolution Dyna Transmission. It has plenty of power and has never had a problem. It runs strong and sounds great with a nice HD chop. Â I would ballpark the miles around 5K or 6K.
The bike is fun to ride even though it is a great show bike. The bike gets a lot of attention no matter what the crowd-even non bikers love to look at it. The seat was made by Danny Gray and is made from sting ray as can be seen in the photos (sting ray mark on seat). The fins on the engine are custom painted (red-see pictures) also to match the frame. Rear shocks are adjustable and nitrogen filled. NEW tires (avon), battery new and has warranty, runs synthetic oil. The rear tire is a 200/55R18. I hate to get rid of this bike however I just have too many hobbies and getting an itch for something new. As a reminder I am open to trades. Be practical about your trade offer.
I want to be upfront about any cosmetic or mechanical issues. The bike is mechanically sound and runs great. I have provided a couple pictures where you can see two of the cosmetic blemishes on this otherwise beautiful bike. One is on the back right side fender above the rear wheel. Where the grey flame turns to red you can see where a spot of red touch up paint was placed to hide a chip. Usually I have this covered with one of those bullet hole stickers. This by the way conceals it perfectly. Chip occurred from something hitting that area one time when I was traveling down the interstate. Like I said, can't tell it's there with the sticker. The other is where the gas tank meets the seat. The paint has chipped away. I was told it most likely occurred from a combination of the seat and the tank rubbing.
